潘蔚琳，1973年8月生，項目正研級高工，博士生導師。

1993年畢業(yè)于浙江大學無線電技術專業(yè)，1993-1996年在國家衛(wèi)星氣象中心總體技術處工作，1997年和2002年在美國佛羅里達州立大學(FSU)和伊利諾伊大學香檳分校(UIUC)分別獲得電子工程專業(yè)碩士和博士學位，2002-2009年在美國斯坦福研究所(SRI)地球空間研究中心任博士后、高級研究工程師。2009年入選中科院“技術百人”，目前在中科院大氣物理研究所中層大氣和全球環(huán)境探測實驗室(LAGEO)從事中高層大氣主、被動光學遙感探測系統(tǒng)的研發(fā)工作。

曾參與組建世界首臺鐵玻爾茲曼激光雷達；參與機載激光雷達實驗觀測獅子座流星雨和北極中高層大氣溫度；參與地基激光雷達實驗觀測南極中高層大氣溫度；承擔格陵蘭中高層大氣溫度、金屬鈉層和夜光云的研究工作。

2003年獲美國光學學會Allen Prize獎。2005-2007年主持美國國家科學基金項目。目前主持中科院“技術百人”和院知識創(chuàng)新工程重要方向“新方法、新技術類”項目。
